A day in the life. From celery juice obsessions, to sprints at Soul Cycle, fine tuned self care rituals, and a typical time on set, it's all in a day's work for our latest Aje Insider. Home for a hot minute, we spend 24 hours in New York with the one and only Bambi Northwood-Blyth.

Rise and shine

6.06am is my preferred wake up time. I’ve joined the celery juice club after it was suggested by a friend who said it's great for skin. So I start my day with a fresh juice before heading out to exercise. I love Y7 Yoga, Soul Cycle and running/walking the bridges with a good playlist. Then COFFEE. Black coffee is my favourite. I love Bluestone Lane.

Beauty rituals

I am obsessed with everything in this category, so I don’t know where to start. At the moment I'm using the Dr Barbara Sturm face products, she is a master at skin. I have also added the Environ range (which is all natural) to my skin care routine. LED lights are great, I use the LightStim device to help even and brighten skin tone. I also love dry body brushing and infrared saunas - so I try head to Higherdose once a week! I think sweating makes you happy. I live for Nuxe Oil for body! I use the Ouai products for my hair, and never go without dry shampoo. Even after washing my hair every day, it gives my hair volume.

Nourish time

Breakfast is usually an at home situation - as with Type 1 diabetes - breakfasts/juices always have secret sugars in them, and if my blood sugar starts off wrong, it’s the worst playing catch up all day. So my usual go to is a smoothie. I use Amazing Grass vegan protein powder in vanilla, Sun Potion's (everything they have is amazing!) Green Adaptogen powder, WelleCo Super Elixir powder, a cucumber, some cinnamon (it stabilises blood sugar) and water/ice. I also use frozen cauliflower as a good banana replacement to replicate that creamy texture. If I’m on the go, I'll have the Sakara Life Force greens mix, which I just mix in a water bottle. If it’s a cafe - Sant Ambrose is my favourite, they are so lovely, and have great coffee.

Working nine 'till five

The crazy but exciting thing about this job is no two days are the same! If it's a studio day in NY, work usually starts around 7-8am with a fitting (so they can tailor the clothes) then straight into hair and make up, which takes about an hour. It's always nice meeting the team, and seeing friends again. Click click click, lots of shots, and changes! As well as a portion of moving image and video. Then wrap time is usually around 5-6pm.

Let's get physical

I always try to squeeze my exercise in before work. But if it's after, it has to be a class. I need someone to yell at me to get me going!

Wine and dine

Dinner with friends is always best at one of my favourites - Lucien (French and always fun!), Souen (healthy and clean), Jacks Wife Freda (any time of day), Omen (the best sushiiii), and Kikis.

Managing deadlines with Type 1 diabetes

So much planning and organisation goes into this. It's like a full time job on a full time job. But, it's so important to try and stay on top of it. I have amazing support from my family and all the team at Beyond Type 1, which is the largest community for Type 1 Diabetes, raising awareness and education.

Feet up first

Baths are my guilty pleasure. And tea before bed is a must! The Detox Tea or Digestive Tea by Sakara Life are great or any of the Traditional Medicines range, they have so many.
